And something that comes to my mind as well is these are really good-looking. They're pretty sharp vehicles. And so, appearance would probably be important to me. And with this setup, it doesn't look too bad at all. For the most part, the hitch is gonna be completely hidden.

And really, the only thing you're gonna be able to see is the receiver tube opening. I do wanna address one of the big questions that a lot of people ask, and that is, by putting a hitch on here, is it gonna interfere with the hands-free liftgate assist And the answer is no. It will still work. All you're gonna have to do is kick your foot to either side of the hitch and it'll open up like it should. I do like the finish of the hitch.

It has that matte black powder coat. And I think it does a good job of kinda matching our plastic here, and just helps it blend in. It looks a little more factory, at least in my opinion. With that said, this is a Class III, so it has a two-inch by two-inch opening. Super common size.

Ton of different things will work with it. It is going to use that standard 5/8 pin and clip. One doesn't come with the hitch. If you need one though, not a huge deal. You can grab it here at etrailer. And something to keep in mind too, if you end up buying a new accessory, let's say, a lot of times, it'll come with this, so just think about that. The safety chain openings are going to be a loop-style and give us enough space to use just about any size hook that our trailer might have. As far as hitch's weight capacities go, it's gonna have some pretty good numbers. The maximum gross tongue weight rating is gonna be 525 pounds. It's gonna be the amount of weight pushing down on the hitch. So, that should accommodate most bike racks and cargo carriers, just to give you an example. As far as the maximum gross trailer weight rating goes, that's gonna be 3,500 pounds. And that's gonna be the amount of weight pulling on the hitch. So, the weight of your trailer, plus anything that you might have on it. Now, I do always like to suggest, it's never a bad idea just to grab your Venza's owner manual. That way, you can check in there and make sure your Toyota can handle that much weight safely. Now, we can grab a couple of measurements, and these will help us figure out what type of hitch-mounted accessories will work best. If you go from the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver tube opening, that's gonna be about 14 inches. So, if you plan on towing, you could probably use a ball mount that has a straight shank, if it's a lighter trailer. If it's a little bit heavier, I'd probably go up an inch or two, or get one with a slight rise in it. If you go from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the rear bumper, that's going to be about six inches. And you can use that measurement to help figure out that if any folding accessories you might have can be stored in that upright position without hitting the back of your Venza. The hitch is gonna work with all models of the Venza, and that's really about it. The hitch is gonna look good and it's capable, so you can't really ask for too much more. Honestly, this would probably be the one I'd go with if I was putting it on my own Venza. I just like the way it looks. That finish kinda sells me on it. But the other hitch available, it's got a gloss finish. So, if you like that look, that's always an option too. It's really just gonna be your personal preference there. But as far as the installation goes, this one really isn't too bad. For the most part, it just kinda bolts right up. On the passenger's side, you don't have a ton of space to work with. And I'll show you a couple of tools that you can use to make it a little bit easier. So, hopefully, that gets you going in the right direction. But why don't we go ahead, pull into the garage and put it on together now. To begin our installation, we're gonna be underneath the back of our Toyota. And the first thing that we're gonna do is come over to our frame rails. And on the sides we're, gonna have some stickers that we need to remove. On the side of our fra
