I have been a Mavs fan for 25 years. Luka and Dirk literally bridged the gap togetheras the perfect handoff. The story was there.

I dont think i can be a Mavs fan anymore. I started watching basketball because of Dirk when i was a kid. I started watching again because of Luka.

Now the Mavs have a good roster. But they NO PLAYERS left besides Dinwiddie from the WCF run team 3 years ago. The team has no identity or real leader now.

Kyrie folded so hard vs the Celtics and AD has been inconsistent health wise.

On paper the Mavs are terrifying now with their insane defense and shooting combo. But they dont have a transcendent talent to take that signature shot now.

Luka deserved a supermax. Make him the highest player in the league. He is probably the hardest player in the league to guard. He has basically been playing with trash up until last year and still was averaging 30. What are we doing Dallas?

Where Dallas messed up was they should have insisted on The Lakers also giving them either Austin Reeves or their other first round pick they have and Dalton Knecht. That would have been worth it still for The Lakers because a player like Luka is never available. It would have also given Dallas more of a future.

I understand Mavs fans being mad but their window is so small with Kyrie and a very different Klay that bringing in AD arguably makes them a better all-around team to win now
