Humpback Whale Calf Throws Temper Tantrum

During our whale watching safari today, our drone operator Domenic filmed this exciting scene of a baby Humpback Whale throwing a temper tantrum! The calf had been trying to nurse, and when mom doesn't give the calf enough, the little one gets frustrated. The calf lifts the entire lower half of its body and tail out of the water and lands right on top of mom. This behavior is known as a peduncle throw.
