Hey guys I'm back with the awaited M52 engine build video. this is the second engine I build for my E36 and decided to do a detailed build video. I have tons of content so I decided to split the video in a few parts to not make them too long. In this video I will show you how to prep the engine for paint. hone the cylinders and perform the piston ring gap procedure

Why must your content be so addictive?? Anyone else agree?

It looks like an iron block there and I thought it was the M50 that has the iron block while the M52 is aluminum block? You sure this is an M52?

Just got my M54B30 rotating assembly in the mail. I'll be looking forward to using your videos as a guide when building my stroker this winter! :)

Also which piston rings did you use?

Did you use S52 Camshafts? Estoy haciendo un stroker y me da miedo que los árboles del M3 provoquen el choque de las válvulas con el piston por falta de clearance. Gracias de antemano :)

do i have to bore the cylinders to build a stroker if i use the stock pistons? or can i just hone and use the same pistons with the old rings?

Yay, another video! Been waiting!!

Good on you on opening up the ring-end gap. Gotta find that balance between enough gap for expansion, yet not too much where you're going through a lot of oil. That'll definitely help avoid ring-butting/ringland popping. Regarding timing, why not run an ethanol mix and/or water-methanol injection? That'll keep your cylinders much cooler (helping avoid ring-butting even more--less heat = less expansion) and the extra octane and cooling will allow extra timing with a ton of extra safety too.

Love the video's mate, The ring gaps your running seem very tight for a boosted application, especially one that is going to see track use.

Alberto, wouldn’t honing your cylinder shave off some of the cylinder making the compression worst???

how do you get the rings out of thecylinder with out them poping off? or breaking cause of uneven pressure?

Buenas, llamándote Alberto hablas también español? Porque si hicieras el DIY traducido al español aunque sea con voz en off te lo agradecería muchísimo! Un saludo!
