Landmine is a serious threat to humanity, which hinders safety of people, peace of society, and collective sustainable development efforts of the world.
Based on this recognition, for more than 20 years, JICA has been working closely with the Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) to build their institutional capacity to achieve safety and peace for the people of Cambodia.
As a result, CMAC has risen to utilize its strengthened mine action capacity not only in Cambodia but also internationally in other contaminated countries, such as Laos and Colombia through South-South cooperation facilitated by JICA.
South-South cooperation in mine action not only transfers knowledge and skills but also delivers hope for a safe and peaceful future, as well as vision for a mine-free world.
