These astartes' ongoing rennaming throughout their band's entire history was simply another passive tactic of strategic misdirection and counter-intel. They're apex predators from out of all space marines, no matter what they called themselves.
More lunar lore on the Moon pre-Imperium is always welcome. A six-hour war before victory upon invasion of the lunar surface is a redoubtable achievement, even among the astartes legions. The XVIth's first designation sounds better than, “Call off your Moon Hounds!” I suppose that there is a deeper reason to Horus' early personal history having such an erratic record; something to do with the eventual Heresy. Which the Emperor has refused to divulge. Perhaps, only to Malcador.
This legion is one of those of all that I am most interested in knowing about, obviously and particularly their initial, Crusading period. The initial tease of campaign action right off with Horus' Sons of Luna Wolves Legion is palate-satisfying and fully-approved. I'm looking forward to hearing more of these battle brothers' more extensively detailed missions for their Imperial father. I'm more intrigued than I expected, now that you've finally arrived here with your series, Narrator. Another weekly release I always await, I hope it continues for some time to come. When I first read about the sons of Horus lore and there treachery
I knew what kind of chaos space Marines I was going to paint I even painted a diorama of them all together in front of Horus as he was doing his speech on a mountain Orc corpses

The Lunar Wolves were wasted potential. I think that had things been a little different, they would have made the perfect basis to form kill teams for the Ordos Xenos.

They seem to have all the marksmanship of the 7th, the bladecraft of the 3rd, the versatility of the 13th, the ruthlessness of the 12th and a discipline at a level not seen in any other. That would be perfect for 10-man kill teams in the Death Watch.
