I love that some animals understand that's affection! You can see birds do it back and even kiss their mates or babies which is so cool. Sometimes they even go, "Mwah!" Its not always this breed specifically, but dalmatians tend to do this the most, they smile back. They show their teeth and wag their tails. Especially when friends and family they know visit, or you're being affectionate and show your teeth/smile they'll do it back. It warms your heart. Thanks to the Internet and semi recent studies we're learning just how smart and emotional animals can be. You're so blessed to have a pet like this and I'm glad the cat has a sweet owner.
