I can't believe how garbage Activision treats their consumers. Like a shady drug dealer

Warzone in lockdown was one of the best multiplayer experiences you could have

I loved Warzone. First battle royale I ever played in the early days of the pandemic. It very much feels like they're trying to erase all evidence of their superior games from the past to try to normalize the current level of mediocrity. Imagine a game where they regularly featured all the maps: Verdansk, Rebirth, Fortune's Keep, the current maps. That would bring back so many people. But instead they keep compounding bad decisions with more bad decisions. 🤦‍♂️

I always come back to these channels just to remind myself how miserable the Warzone experience is lol. Crazy how bad the game is now. I've never seen a developer sabotage themselves as bad as Warzone has. It's almost impressive.

The problem this has created - which JGod hits upon - is the precedent this has set. The decision to pull the plug on Warzone Caldera is one of the most egregious uses of publisher power we have seen in gaming period. It's also the first time we have literally seen micro transactions used in a rentable capacity rather than fully ownable - which was never broadcasted once through the 3 years of live service it was given. They were even selling BRAND NEW items only a few weeks before the release of Warzone 2.0! Store items have always been marketed in Warzone to players so that they did not have to touch multiplayer, with blueprints providing unlocked attachments and even in-game benefits with skins, player characters and the guns themselves. It's clear that Warzone has always had the majority of it's playerbase be free-to-play, so this move almost feels like an exit scheme at multi-million, if not billion dollar level.

Whether this was a decision to free up server space or to push people to new titles, this is yet another serious error of judgement (and probably the most serious) from a franchise and publisher that continously drops the ball with fans and longtime players. I won't be buying another COD again or investing money - COD has been my favourite game for over 16 years. Whilst I do have access to MW 2019, Cold War and Vanguard this is a blatant misuse of trust and overall scumbag move. I hope someone has the energy to bring a class action lawsuit for people who are affected by this. Activision deserves what's coming to them.

I think we should have a class action lawsuit. If you shut down the game you should refund the skins

JGod keeping us consumers informed with the real facts. Big kudos to you man. I was shocked when I saw the news about WZ1 shutting down. It’s ridiculous how COD as a company just keep swindling and lying to us year after year. I for one keep falling for their traps and give them benefit of the doubt. But this is the last straw I won’t be purchasing anything for COD going forward until I see actual effort in their titles.

Pretty scummy move on their end. They've shown that they're able to bring old skins, blueprints/camos, etc into the new engine via a ton of the store bundles that are currently offered, they're just choosing not to do transfer peoples'purchases and grinded camos on the old engine.

Between this and a ton of other decisions the company has made, they're showing their cards that they don't care one bit about the community.

Activision seem to be obvlivious to their own self sabotage and I'm all for it

That last point you made is key. Back in WZ1 I didn't spend a single cent on any bundles, same goes for WZ2 so far. Activision is just basically milking the player-base as much as possible without even offering a good quality game. I mean it's funny how they release bundles and skins everyday but they can't even fix bugs and glitches in their own game.😂🤣

I just want to say that there are a lot of people playing Caldera. I've never had any problems finding lobbies. They are always completely full. I have no problem getting matched up with teammates. The numbers probably don't come close to wz2, but there was absolutely an active community still playing on Caldera.

Just bring back Verdansk remastered with everyone’s skins, none of the WWII guns, and add anti-cheat. Then iterate or alternate the map periodically. They’ll make another billion real quick

If Activision wants the same growth and profits, they would look at the charts and see that Verdanks was their most profitable map, all it needed was the anti cheat and we were solid. Great map, great skins, great game, amazing community. Back then COD was all over my feed on tiktok, now I don't even bat an eye to the content.

Bring Verdansk back and they will come. Be nice if they gave us a choice on which map to play on.

It’s actually so sad, they had such a great game in WZ1 and instead of sticking to what made it successful listened to probably 10% of the player base removing everything that made WZ different from typical BRs, worked out great….

I’m glad they’re doing this. They’re pushing us towards different games and helping us break from the CoD addiction. XDefiant is on its way so even more reason to move on.

I said this on Prestige's video, I'll say it again:
This progression has revealed COD's full business model. They want a Churn and Burn, As A Service Game with Aggressive, Un-Needed, Sunset Tactics to make you rebuy legacy assets. WZ1 was a great experience for so many, but these predatory tactics are the final nail in the coffin for me as consumer of this franchise.

I still play WZ 1 and personally prefer 1000 times over WZ 2. It doesn't surprise me that they will pull the plug I hop on Caldera and lobbies are still full and it seems like more and more people keep playing.
