A lot of animated cutscenes in games for the ps1 were good at the time, but a lot of them dont hold up very well, this however still holds up very well, it’s also very impressive how the animation here is better than hoodwinked, coincidence right.

Holy @#$*! Those cutscenes for an old ps1 game are very good looking like if the game were from the mid 2000s.

I still remember playing this as a kid in early 2000. Couldn't pass a certain sequence with the caveman. Then after years I found out you could stomp the ground to progress.
Had very fond memories with this game. ❤️

The reason why these cutscenes hold up better is because they went with no realism nor trying the rough way of higher resolution models you would see in-game but rather the good 3d CG technique. That being said they still did that on n64 version in the end but that was kinda done well enough lol.
