Absolutely love my 2023 Ford maverick XLT highbred with the luxury package. Took a very long time to finally get one. But it was definitely worth the wait. My mileage has been an impressive 48 miles per gallon since I’ve owned it.❤

I have watched your TV show since way back in the day, and have always found it a highly reputable and reliable source of automotive information and entertainment. And having now owned a hybrid Maverick for the last two months, I can say from a first-hand informed perspective that you guys are absolutely spot on with it as your selection for best of the year. I've been complaining for the last couple of decades to anyone who will listen, that truck manufacturers have completely abandoned middle America. With every passing year, trucks have become ever more massive, expensive and impractical for everyday use. So when the Maverick was introduced, I was absolutely floored to discover that it not only checked every box on my list of desires, but checked a couple more that weren't even on the list because they seemed like pipe dreams. Those being budget pricing, and economy car gas mileage. And at the same time the Maverick is roomy, comfortable, versatile, attractive, and fun to drive. Performance is impressive, and the eCVT is silky smooth. A complete game changer in my opinion. Great job, Ford. Bravo! 🤩

I have driven a couple base models at work. While driving it and the first time it went from electric to the gas engine i thought somebody had cranked up a lawnmower engine but you can't argue about the price.

Want one if I could get one without the high dealer mark up.

I am absolutely loving my Maverick XLT 2.0 EcoBoost AWD FX4 w/ 4K Tow Package. I bought it strictly for my 4 hour commute to work from El Paso to Midland Texas where I work for 14 days. When it’s home or at work it stays parked so it literally sees 95% plus highway miles and so far has returned me 32.5mpg at 75mph and 30.5mpg at 80mph. In my usage I don’t think I would see much advantage with the Hybrid, plus the added capabilities and safety of the AWD make up for any lost MPG’s. That being said I do also have a Hybrid on order so I will report back when that comes in later this year. After years of F-150 & F-250 Platinums, owning the Maverick is such a liberating and refreshing experience. It really is the perfect utilitarian vehicle. The Goldilocks if you will!

How could it not win? The Maverick has so much going for it at half the price of the average new vehicle. Amazing.

Saw one on the road the other day, surprised how small it is.

People can be happy with a sporty and efficient $26k version, or a powerful and luxurious $37k version. They are both great and under the average $42k new vehicle cost.

That’s great. Find one at sticker. Impossible.

I would take the little city hybrid. My old tacoma 4 cylinder got barely 20 mpg and was much slower.

Dang! I have never been a fan of pick up trucks but this one looks fantastic. A great alternative to SUV’s that everyone has now. It looks very versatile. One thing that I feel iffy about is the CVT transmission.

The eCVT is a much different design than traditional CVT which should be pointed out since there are so many CVT haters in YouTube comment land .

To bad the ford dealership are driveing up the prices. Good luck finding one at sticker price. Most are being marked up over sticker with fake fees

I still like my rusted beat up 1996 4 cyl Ranger. And no payments runs great yet with maintenence and 192 k on the clock. But these mavericks got my attention

The Maverick is the return of the econo truck. This truck should get a lot of buyers who are looking for an affordable and reliable small work truck. Contractors, electricians, mechanics, plumbers, landscapers, and those small-job folks who don't need a big truck will be the prime targets.

1999s gen:I remember when trucks were trucks back then and were around 18K but now for a base truck, u need at least 40-50K. Its just ridiculous

Ford maverick: allow me to introduce myself...

“Starts with the base hybrid fuel trim”
Which You can’t find ANYWHERE because Ford isn’t producing them.
And dealers are NOT stocking them

This is the best most successful worst nightmare to ford. Why? Because everybody wants one, but ford can not produce enough mavericks for such a big demand.
