In the Aerosmith autobiography, walk this way, Steve Tyler said that this is the only song he sung in his natural voice.

There's actually a more recent version of Steven Tyler singing this with a piano, which is even more impressive considering his age. The man has some pipes!

Steven Tyler wrote Dream On when he was 17 years old.

He's got a voice that can reach the heavens, great songwriter and musician and owns every stage he walks on, a complete artist in every sense of the word . No one else sounds like him, he's got many imitators but no duplicators . The majority of artists on the radio today, I'm not saying everyone, but a damn lot of them sound identical. He's definitely a rarity.

This is honestly the best performance they did of this song. Everything is great, the orchestra, the band, Steven.

To think this was 28 years ago, and he was deep in his 40's and still hit those notes.

RIP Michael Kamen who was the conductor, one of the best Conductors that loved to mix with Metal & Hard Rock bands.

I saw Aerosmith in concert in 2010 and it is easily one of the best live concerts i have ever been to. The band is so good and tight and Steven Tyler is not just a great singer but also a fantastic showman and one of the best front man of all time.

So true about the rock and roll lifestyle. There is a legend that he once heard a song he didn't recognize on the radio that he liked. He suggested to his band mates they should do a cover of it, and was promptly informed that it actual was one of their songs.

Steven is my hero. He went from a low drug addict to on top of the world. That's why I love him

This might be the best live version of Dream On, official release anyway. It's on the Last Action Hero OST, a great disc to get if you ever come across it.

This was my favorite performance of this great song. Saw it live on the MTV Anniversary special and it finally elevated "Dream On" to the elite class the song deserved. Everything about the performance was electrifying. Thank you for choosing this particular video to react to. It puts the song into the immortal category, in my opinion.

One thing that I've always felt about Steven Tyler's singing style is he sings with such emotion, confidence and conviction that your attention is on him and you know you must listen. He's definitely lived the Rock and roll Lifestyle and owned it. 👍👍😎

A YouTube singer from Europe called PelleK covered this too and was spot on. He does heavy metal covers of pop songs and sings anime openings in Japanese. Super talented, you should check him out.

Steve Tyler and Joe Perry the Toxic Twins. Also Joe Perry was the mentor to Slash of Guns N Roses when Slash was learning to play Guitar.

At some point during the early 80s Tyler almost lost his voice. I think it was his lowest point regarding his addiction issues... Back then Aerosmith had lost its 2 guitarists and replaced them and they went to record ‘Rock in a hard place ‘. Somehow Tyler managed to sing on that record, but if you listen to him his voice is almost cracked. Still, he performed pretty good, I don’t know how but he did. Afterwards he recovered, but that particular album is a testimony of his out of this world endurance.
