What is the partition?

A partitioned table is a logical structure used to divide a large table into smaller pieces called partitions. 

Types of partitions:

1. Range partition - Partition a table by a range of values.
2.List partition -   Partition a table by a list of known values. 
3. Hash partition - Partition a table using a hash function on the partition key

If as I implement the partition on date range and I restoring the data from 1 Jan 2020 to 31-12-2020 Dec then next year table will create automatic or i need to create manually?or i create the some table for future date range(like 1jan2021 to 31-12-2021) and detached the same?
