The Argonautica audiobook by Apollonius of Rhode.
It was composed in the early 3rd century BC and is considered to be the oldest surviving poem in Greek. The story of the Argonauts and their journey to the Golden Fleece is told in the Argonautica, the most important of all the Greek epic tales. The story of Apollonius' travels to the Hellenistic world and his encounters with the Greek gods was already well known to the Greeks, who could easily appreciate the dramatic significance of the encounter. The book contains many references to the Phoenician, Carthaginian, and Egyptian civilizations, and his interest in the ancient Near East is well-known. He was also the first to write a beautiful poem about the relationship between the hero and the heroine – "The Lover's Heart" – and it was a masterpiece of the poetic form. But the greatest influence on Latin poetry was the work of the great poet-philosopher Cicero, whose work was so influential that it inspired the poet-philosophers of the later Middle Ages.
