Hello Aluxers! How Much do you think You Need To Save By Every Age To Stop Working
The #1 App Rich People Use To Optimize Their Lives!

I threw my first money into an index fund at 15. I'm 20 now, with $40, 5k in index funds. That's a pretty solid start! Though, I'm going to college for 3 years now for my engineering degree, so won't be able to contribute much more until that's over.. But I would love to retire at around 40, and actually get to enjoy my life a bit, and do some traveling around the world, instead of stressing about work. I'm working on it.

I must say that it is very, very satisfying to see how fast I'm moving forward, while I am seeing everyone around me at my age throw money at gambling apps, massive car loans, snuff and alcohol (which also messes with your health), expensive lunches, general lifestyle inflation, and even ridiculous speeding tickets. I just know that I'm working my way into a brilliant spot for the future, and that I will definitely be thanking myself later!

Taking the first step is the hardest, but 6 houses later living off passive income. With the right strategy, even in these times, I managed to net a ridiculous amount like $120k in profit just last month. It's all about having the right guidance and making informed decisions. I'm staying diversified using the algorithmic trading system

I doubt 250, 000 dollars will be the bare minimum needed to retire in the 2060s.

Watching this video reminded me of a moment a few years ago when I realized I had no real retirement plan. I was 30, living paycheck to paycheck, and believed saving was only for people earning six figures. Then I heard about the FIRE movement and it hit me—starting small is better than not starting at all. I began putting aside just $50 a month. It felt insignificant, but it gave me a sense of control I hadn’t felt before. Over time, I adjusted my lifestyle, focused more on needs than wants, and the habit stuck. Has anyone else had that “wake-up” moment when you realized your future depends on the choices you make today?

I'm hoping to retire next year at 55. My goal next year is to be more serious and consistent with my investments I've been investing since I was 22. 2025 is going to be more serous for me investing consistently for the long term. starting to save for a house down payment. I want to invest more than $105k, but I'm not sure on how to mitigate risk.

Such a refreshing take in this video! Got me thinking about Rich Hidden Magic...one of the few books that made a lasting impact on how I handle money. Not trying to promote, just genuinely believe it’s worth the read

It is easier to follow these numbers if u present them in a table uk. Fancy graphics don't help in these cases

I had no idea how blind I was until I read Hidden Codex of Wealth. Everything I thought I knew about money was a joke. This book completely rewired my brain.

Currently I'm a Dutch person just under 24 who'd like to retire at 40.

Today my lifestyle with a paid off house would be $20.000 per year including all taxes and service costs. If I want to retire at 40, I'd need to account for inflation which puts me at 20.000 * 1.036^16 = ~$36.000. The S&P500 projects a yearly 10% of which the Dutch system taxes 40% from the returns of investments as a wealth tax, so a real 6% return rate. Take another 3.6% to correct for the yearly average inflation in the Netherlands and we're left with 2.4%.

36.000 / 2.4 * 100 puts me at a $1.500.000 target at 40.

I'll spare you the further calculations, but that would equal saving $4.628 a month in the S&P500 by factoring in wealth taxation. Even if that seems hard to achieve right now, at least I've still got my entire career in front of me and wages will also increase with inflation besides raises which would make the burden more manageable.

Just as well I started investing at 35years old. I wish I had this knowledge when I was 25 years old. I wish I could have started then.

Oh well, better late than never!
