Once cooked, the. Breadfruit is generally mashed and eaten like a side mashed potato with meat, and other veg/gravy, etc.

Score the top of the breadfruit, roast it on the stove, turn it octionally until it is fully black, take it off the heat and let it cool. Peel the skin the slice in quaters then take out the heart of the breadfruit. You can cut the slices of breadfruit to the thickness you want and fry it til golden brown. Eat ackee and saltfish or with corned beef, cook the corned beef with garlic, onion, green onion and bell peppers, you don't need salt in it just black pepper.

I’m from Puerto Rico but breadfruit is more commonly fried/roasted or included in soups in the Caribbean. It’s similar to how yuca and cassava is used. It’s even sold frozen for that reason.

Breadfruit was originally brought to Jamaica from the pacific Islands by the HMS Bounty in 1794. It's originated in New Guinea and the Indo-Malay region and was spread throughout the vast Pacific by voyaging islanders. Here in Malaysia, we call it "Sukun".

Hey im not Jamaican but my culture eats Jamaican breadfruit alot. So what we do is boil the breadfruit with potatoes, platain, yam and etc (or u can just do the breadfruit alone) and on the side we make salt fish, which is just salted fish with a sauce of tomatoes and onions. We call this dish "provision" u should try it!

We Jamaicans usually roast it on coals, it gives it a different texture than baking. We usually eat it with any type of sautéed vegetables, stewed meat or even our national dish, Ackee and salt fish paired with a slice of avocado. Left overs after roasting it are usually fried the next morning and paired with fried omelettes, steamed vegetables etc for breakfast.

In the Maldives, we eat bread fruit in quite a few different ways.

1. Diced into tiny cubes and cooked together with rice to be eaten with curries or fish broth.
2. Diced into tiny cubes and cooked with rice and sugar (and also coconut milk I think) until everything becomes soft and is eaten similarly to a pudding.
3. Sliced into wedges (Just like potato wedges) and baked. Sometimes sugar is added so that it caramelizes and is typically eaten as a snack.
4. Cut into large pieces, boiled, and eaten with rice and fish broth, along with a bunch of other accompaniments like lime, onions, chilis and some other local food items.
5. Cut into medium sized pieces and cooked into a curry along with smoked fish, coconut milk and other spices.
6. Cut into very thin slices of about 1-2mm and deep fried until they are completely crispy. This is probably the most common way Maldivians eat them, at least in the capital city.

There are probably other ways they are cooked too, but these can probably be counted as most of the common ways they are enjoyed here.

We call it sukun here in Indonesia and another way to prepare it is almost like preparing a fries, I think you can search it as "sukun goreng". We simply shave the skin and slice it to manageable pieces then fried it until it's crispy, the result is crispy but little chewy outer layer with soft chewy texture inside and don't forget to season it with salt while it's still hot!

Breadfruit is kinda like a sidedish here in jamaica kinda like fries or anything else. we usually eat it with salt and dip it in stuff, or as you said, we eat it with any main dish like a curry recipe, you can also fry it which makes it taste amazing

You need to wait for it until it's ripen n then baked it n when you scoop it out you add some butter n mash it together it's so delicious. This is very common here in Seychelles and I learn this recipe from the locals also you can make chips out of it when it's not ripen super crunchy n healthy ❤

I'm from the Maldives, and bread fruit is pretty common here there are countless ways to prepare is like baking it like you did, although we peal the skin first chopp it up into decent chunks befor we baked it, that way the outside gets crispy with a soft interior. You can also cut it into thin slices and fry it its like a potato chip but better but if you do fry it dont salt it, I know it sounds weard but bread fruit natutally has a really nice sweet or salty flavour.and pro tip take out the core

As a Jamaican, we put the breadfruit over fire on the stove or so(I've nvr seen it been baked in my 18 years lol). So you keep it over the fire until it turns black. Then you peel of the skin off the fruit. Now you can either fry it or eat it as is, I personally like to put on some olive oil and some grained pepper as is.

You can boil, roast, fry into chips, mash, sautee green breadfruit. If you eat it with a dish, add salt for taste. Also very ripe breadfruit can be blended into milkshakes and ice cream, it has a similar texture as soursop with a slightly fermented flavour, you can also make jam with it. Breadfruit is great with stews but we in the south Caribbean Islands prefer it as a side to Creole Fish. Flatten and fry breadfruit to make wraps or tortillas. Bake it into a pie etc....essentially it is a very versatile fruit, not indigenous to Jamaica but found on many other islands as well.

In Sri Lanka we first peel it and then cut in into pieces. Then we either make breadfruit curry to be eaten with rice or we boil it with salt and eat it with coconut sambal.

Can be a side and a main, for mains, id suggest saltfish, mackerel, any type of fish really, corned beef, ackee and saltfish, really just some gravy you could pick it up and eat it with, yes like roti, for sides now, its just well, just like how you sliced it and well at the side if a plate. Also, maybe it can be in the oven, idk but its usually roasted (on fire or coal until fully black), boiled (used just like ground provisions, cassava, potatoes, pumpkins, (we do dumplings too but yh), etc) or roasted then fried (in hor oil just like any other thing youd fry), the latter is absolutely amazing btw! Please try it out and lmk if this helps!!

In india we cook it by cutting it into thin slices and seasoning, then you have two options you can either dip it in egg and fry or fry it with salmonella/breadcrumb.
