We thought the same thing. Denver is not in the mountains. It’s actually considered high desert. Sure it’s at over 5000 foot elevation and you can SEE the Rocky Mountains but living here is a whole new world. We used to drive 2-3 hours every weekend to escape the city and head to the mountains for hiking, jeeping, skiing, paddle boarding, etc. Now all of that is literally in our backyard. It really is an entirely different and amazing lifestyle.
