"And we did come to the land which we called Bountiful, because of its much fruit and also wild honey; and all these things were prepared of the Lord that we might not perish." -1 Nephi 17:5

After journeying for many years, Lehi and his family eventually came to a coastal region which they called “Bountiful.”
Many people have wondered if such a coastal paradise could exist on the dry Arabian Peninsula. Learn how one location complies with all 12 features mentioned by Nephi in the Book of Mormon.

For a believer in the Book of Mormon, such as I, it is fascinating to see in video a geographic locale which has been discovered in modern times (which Joseph Smith knew nothing about in his day nor did anyone else in the Americas in the 1800s) which fits all of the necessary 'criteria' for the "land Bountiful." This locale in Oman also neatly fits because it it due nearly 'eastward' from the point where Lehi's party started to travel eastwards (in the Middle East before departing for the New World) and only eastwards...until Nephi et al built their ship to cross "Irreantum" ("many waters").

Years ago I ran across an article from the Nephi Project. Since then it has been fascinating to follow the explorations of George Potter and friends. And finally the possibility that Khor Rori might be the Book of Mormon Bountiful.
So last year it was quite interesting to see there was another possible Bountiful down the coast from Khor Rori. This one discovered from Ahton's explorations originating from the the sea, while Potter tried to follow Lehi's overland travels. It has been disappointing therefore to hear nothing from the efforts at Khor Kharfot to excavate what might be a temple similar to Solomon's design.
It is exciting that so much is going on, literally around the world, that might have ties to the Book of Mormon. But much of the speculation of archaeologists will change next year. Only the book itself remains solid and the testimony of the Savior.

Neither Joseph Smith nor any other "Westerner" knew the topography or biomes of Oman or most any other stretches of the Middle East in the 1800s.
For all most anyone knew the ENTIRETY of the region of Oman was devoid of any "lush biomes" and was only purely barren and desert...hence, recent discoveries which have found small isolated locales' in Oman that are lush is quite fascinating...

Agree, this spot in Oman looks to be the only obvious spot for the land Bountiful. Likewise, the Ohio Valley region, U.S.A., is the only likely spot for the main events of the Nephites and Lamanites as Joseph Smith both testified it was and archaeological evidence points to this region as the only logical place with near-by Western New York as the final battle ground and hiding of the gold plates and Nephi's prophecy that the very land his people were living in, was the future land of liberty, where the gospel of Jesus Christ would be restored.

Who's list??? Seriously?! As if they were the first to ever compile the same list; not the first, not the last. Sounds like priestcraft, ah yes, the praise of man.

It's all listed in the Book of Mormon, it's Mormon's list! Please redo this video and remove reference to any third-party "lists" containing the exact information everyone already has, as provided in the book itself; Instead just say something such as: "if you/we compile a list of criteria and descriptions as provided in the Book of Mormon, we have/find...xyz."

Give the credit back to the book!

I guess if I go type up a list of all the items in the bill of rights, you could start giving me credit for the bill of rights.
