Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is an action-adventure video game developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega. It is a spin-off of the Like a Dragon series previously known to the west as Yakuza.

I think I understand why the Agent battle theme is like this, they wanted to create a MAJOR contrast between his two identities and have the music, heat actions, and fighting reflect those dual identities.

In Agent style, complimented with a cold and calculated EDM track, Kiryu is more in control, relaxed, and more precise in his fighting and even his heat actions reflect his more assassin-like nature thanks to this style working under the Daidoji.

In Yakuza style, the music shifts to a more PS2-esque HARD ROCK track, while the music goes all out, Kiryu lets himself go all out. Ruthless attacks, brutal heat actions, and overpowering enemies with sheer force and endurance is the name of the game here.

But that's just my take on it, I could just be a raving lunatic who doesn't know what he's talking about lol

While a lot of people say they prefer the Yakuza style's theme (which I somewhat agree on), this one ain't as bad either and honestly perfectly portrays the agent style. It truly makes you feel like an action movie star playing an agent in a movie fight/battle.

And I'm sad about the fact that it didn't make it into LAD8. It should be he is still an active Daidoji agent.

Agent Style might be one of my favorite combat movesets in gaming. I love spy fiction and Joryu's just a BLAST to play as when going full agent.

Does anyone else hear "smile venomously" in this track? It sounds like they snuck in parts of it into this to really solidify that kiryu can never escape his old life no matter how hard he tries. Even upon assuming a new persona and life. Bits and pieces creep back in. It's almost poetic~
