Strawberry DNA Extraction - STEM Education Activity

Watch this video to see how you can extract the DNA from the inside of a strawberry. Do this activity at home by making your own extraction buffer: 4oz/100mls water, 1/2tsp/2mls liquid dish soap, 1/4tsp/1gram table salt and mix. You can replace the pipette/bulb by using a medicine syringe or liquid measuring cup. Last tip-you can substitute isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) for ethanol. Chill it ahead of time to see even more DNA!
