Washer Repair- Replacing the Clutch Assembly (Whirlpool Part # 285785)

If your washer is having any of these symptoms, then replacing the clutch assembly could solve your appliance problem.
1) Washer not spinning
2) Washer not getting water out of clothes
3) Spin cycle working poorly

1) 7/16inch socket with extension and ratchet
2) Channel lock pliers
3) Philips screw driver
4) Medium sized flat blade
5) Small sized flat blade
6) ¼inch nut driver

This is the best video I have found on the replacement of a clutch. Just a realization: returning the Retaining Clip is not as easy as shown on the video. Also, I broke my D clip. Besides that, we are happy with the repaired washing machine. We should repair things than throw them away Thank you from the Philippines.

Great video! I just did this repair and it was a cakewalk. I just disconnected the pump and left the motor attached to the gearbox. It slid out easily and wasn't too heavy all as one unit. Doing it this way allowed me to leave the cover and everything on, other than the agitator of course.
