What do foreigners commonly struggle with in Japan? Have they had any culture shocks? Have they faced discrimination/racism?
In this video we're going to see what types of dificulties foreigners face when living in Japan. We were able to interview many people from around the globe. The interviewees included of people from: France, America/Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Belgium, Thailand, and Korea (guy from BTS?). There are currently so many international people from Europe, Asia, and USA coming to visit Japan, so let me know if you guys want to see similar content to this!

Thank you guys so much for the support, it really means a lot!

Japan is one of the safest countries.
Why should we push “ Diversity “ on them when it had clearly failed in the UK and US.

The discrimination that occurs in Japan is nothing compared to the discrimination against Japanese people who have gone overseas.

Great video and interesting people being interviewed. Might want to make the subtitles smaller though.

They love our style, love our movies, love our music, love our cars and come here for vacation but can’t stand us

Hate to break it you you don't have to be a foreigner in a country to experience racism. In fact its most likely to be worse than that of a foreigner, many people feel that racism and violence to those born in their own countries doesn't actually count as racism.

The way foreigners are treated in Japan is unfortunate. I have traveled most of the world and can easily say discrimination is at the forefront in Japan. I hope the people that are discriminatory travel and are treated in the same way.

It is true that closed civilizations, which have limited contact with foreigners, may naturally exhibit a tendency to reject and feel uncomfortable with unfamiliar behaviors. This reaction is a human response and not an inherently malicious or fabricated trait. A similar phenomenon can be observed when comparing tourist cities, which regularly receive visitors from different cultures, to smaller interior cities that rarely encounter foreigners.

If this is true, how unfortunate and hypocritical, Japanese Citizens are very welcomed in the United States (big mixing bowl). Yet when Americans go to Japan, we get some level of discomfort, indifference, xenophobia and discrimination, especially with people of color (I'm a back American and have been to beautiful Japan). Maybe they should consider a little more about the origin of modern humans (homo-sapiens-sapiens) which are from the African continent, who later migrated all over the world. This also means that everyone, from all over the world, come from the same people but their most ancient ancestors were actually of a much darker pigmentation(what we call black today), so relax brothers and sisters, take a chill pill, we are all one human family (99.9% of the same DNA). The other .01% is from our different characteristics, which is from our adaptive unique stationary UVR's environments.

Your show is so lightweight and the people's answers are too ~ I've been living in Japan for 10 years and have not heard anyone mention the gossip that can kill a person's reputation in the neighborhood where you live ~ Gossip is king here with retired people who have nothing better to do ~ I have been victim #1 where I live ~

Yes I’ve found this in Kyoto totally rude on the buses when their economy is a tourism economy. Also the worst behaved people I saw were Japanese business men drunkenly singing and dancing incredibly loudly in the super private Gion streets with all the camera signs .. NOT tourists !

It seems like blending in and social modesty are very important in japan. But I notice many foreigners seem to be oblivious to this.

As an East Asian, this is so weird, most of these complains are abut things that are "different" from their own home, nothing serious. And yes, Japanese don't like to talk to strangers, thats normal as hell, western people are loud.

I've been to Japan 3x, I didn't experience it.. Rather, I experienced with coworkers when I used to work at a Japanese restaurant. It was not bad, but it is hard to make friends with Japanese lol.
