Goblin Grenade actually used to be the chase card from this set. It was 10 dollars and packs were under 4 dollars. Still a great card though.

If I remember correctly, this was the first set where they could meet the demands of stores for how many boxes, they wanted but stores didn't believe them, so they ordered double to get the amount they actually wanted then they got shipped what the ordered and had overlfow

Knight of the Ebon Hand! I used to run a 60 card Gary life drain deck and knight of the Ebon hand is a seriously good foot soldier in that deck.

Such an old goblin grenade should be worth more. And order of the ebon ... should have some value too.

The print run for previous was around 50-60 million, this one was around 300-350 million. That was the problem aside from the set being small and underpowered and uninteresting. Any one want a sealed box I’ve had it sitting since release, I opened 2 boxes then and was so dissatisfied with this set I almost quit Magic, but they came back hard with later sets that are still my all time favorites.

I made a kick-ass Thalid deck back in the day that used to drive my friends crazy. I remember my local card shop selling these for a buck a pack, and every week, the same amount was still on the counter. Lol😂

I remember buying packs of this for $1 in 1997. Every card store had boxes of this sitting around because the set was so terrible.

Some crazy guy probably snatched up tons back in the day and laughs at people now since the boxes go for a few hundred.

Its hilarious too because I bought all the cards in the set for about $30 a few years ago

Fallen Empires had the weakest cards. I used to buy those for packs for $1 at a toy store in the mall.

Goblin Grenade is a good card. I could see it finding some success in the right standard environment.

Ah, the nostalgia... I worked to get the full set, including all the four artworks of some cards. Then sold it to a collector for $125. I figure I broke even with it, which is cool.
