MS Dhoni ensures Indian flag doesn't touch the ground as fan rushes out to touch his feet

MS Dhoni made sure that the Indian flag did not touch the ground as fan rushed onto the field to touch his feet in the third and final T20I between India and New Zealand on Sunday. Dhoni proved yet again why he is regarded as the champion he is. India comes before anything else for the county's most successful cricket captain.

On Sunday, while India were bowling a fan ran onto the field in order to meet his idol. As the fan bowed down to touch Dhoni's feet, Dhoni snatched away the Indian flag that the fan was carrying in his hand so that it doesn't touch the ground.

Dhoni ensured that in a moment the fan may not be aware that the Indian flag was about to touch the ground, as he may have been in awe of his idol. Dhoni though, stayed cool.

Dhoni, playing his 300th T20 match, and became the 13th cricketer to achieve the feat joining Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Brendon McCullum, Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik, Ryan ten Doeschate, Dwayne Smith, Albie Morkel, Ravi Bopara, Sunil Narine, Sohail Tanvir and Luke Wright.

Dhoni turned up for the 96th time for India, and has played for Chennai Super Kings, in the Indian Premier League, 169 times. Dhoni has also played 30 matches for Rising Pune Supergiant, in 2016 and 2017 and also represented Jharkhand, his state team in 4 T20s and once for Indians during an England tour in 2011.

Dhoni in the New Zealand innings effected a lightning fast stumping, taking just 0.099 seconds to stump Tim Seifert off the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav and also took a catch behind the stumps.

However, it was not a happy day for Dhoni with the bat as he scored only 2 off 5 deliveries as went down by 4 runs. New Zealand won the three-match series 2-1.

Dhoni's tally of runs after match reads - 6136 from 300 matches with the help of 24 fifties.
