Delhi High Court on Thursday denied any interim protection from arrest to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the summons issued to him by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the liquor policy scam case.

“At this stage, we are not inclined to grant an interim relief,” a bench headed by Justice Suresh Kumar Kait and Manoj Jain said.

According to a Bar and Bench report, the Court further listed the matter of Kejriwal’s plea for interim protection for April 22 along with his main petition challenging the probe agency’s summons.

“At this stage, we are not inclined to pass any order,” the court said.

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal had moved a fresh plea in the Delhi High Court, seeking no coercive action against him. On Wednesday, the AAP national convenor had told the Delhi high court he won’t appear before the ED as there is a “clear intent” to arrest him with elections around the corner.

Will such leniency be offered to a common man by the courts?? Can I dare to defy the summons of a local police station, let alone ED or CBI??
