I worked at McDonald's for 2 years and it was just like this. They keep it fairly clean and if I saw someone drop something on the floor it was immediately discarded and not used. At least at my store nobody ever used stuff off the floor or spit in any sandwiches or anything like that. Probably because of the cameras but still lol. Also the last bun in the package is still pretty fresh because the buns are used so fast that they know about how much to bring out for the day and they use them all while they are still fresh. If I remember correctly they are frozen to keep them fresh then thawed out before being toasted and used.

My manager didn't wear gloves and when food fell on the floor, she would send it anyway. Also there was mold growing behind the frappe machines and under the drink station at the drive thru window. The deep fry station with the meetle meetle beep gave me ptsd. I heard that sound in the sleep and sometimes at home randomly. I called out some days because my nightmares were me working a full shift 💀

All that for minimum wage too. The only pro was the jacket I never returned.
