Radu and Natalia both have different stories for many injuries that she sustained, who will you believe?

As a survivor of domestic violence, I too have told the authorities that there's no problems. The truth is not worth the beating you'll receive if you aren't believed! Please always bear in mind that domestic violence rarely starts with physical violence, that usually doesn't start until they have manipulated one into believing that it's all your fault.
Yes I believe her! I've been there. It was 30 years ago, but it never goes away.

It really upsets me that he wasn't convicted of attempted murder. She's only alive because of the undercover officer who cared enough to investigate what was going on. If I was Natalia I would change my name and my child's name and move far away. 15 yrs goes by fast and he probably blames her for everything like he always has.I pray Natalia and her daughter are able to find some peace. He's a sick POS monster.

Listening to the defense lawyer use Natalia's "own words" against her in terms of medical records made me wanna rip my hair out. She expressed that she realized she'd been manipulated into thinking that about herself and the lawyer is almost continuing that manipulation.

I can't believe he's only getting 15-25. He should be getting life without parole. It angers me that domestic violence is so under punished.

For those who don't know, it's common place for abusers to either force or manipulate their victims into doing things that they can use to shame and blackmail them with later. Ie doing drugs, engaging in sexual activity outside the relationship, etc. This guy's no exception. It's 100% about control to him. That's why he's willing to shoot her in legs, and then turn around and 'tend to her wounds' with antiseptic.
The levels and layers of manipulation and mind-fuckery run so deep it's insane.

I *love* that this judge cut off this monster as he tried to ask for mercy using his daughter losing a father as some bargaining chip. I hope Natalia and her daughter have found some peace and happiness ❤

Man, it’s not every day you see a lawyer that slimy. Providing a robust defense is one thing, but that was downright distasteful. It’s a shame the intent to murder didn’t stick; as far as I’m concerned he doesn’t deserve to continue breathing, let alone to walk free in as few as 15 years.

the extent to which this man tried to delude and lie and make natalia seem like the unstable one is so...i dont even have words for it. he is an actual demon.

My best friend of almost 50 years lived this nightmare for 46 years. She escaped from someone much like this man, 2 years ago. It was heartbreaking to watch her live like that. But Oh the joy now, seeing her take those baby steps to freedom and healing! The courage it took to finally leave! I’m so proud of her. Like Natalia, my friend will always live in a prison her abuser built in her mind. With lots of support and counseling I pray they both will live happy healthy lives.

The thing that immediately put me on her side was when asked what was wrong with her she admitted to lying, being manipulative, having no remorse, can’t think of anyone besides herself, etc because someone who actually had these characteristics would NEVER admit to them because they don’t see these are negative characteristics or think they are capable of having negative characteristics. That’s when I knew HE was the monster that was projecting onto her because he knew she would suffer with them.

First time I am responding in the comments. I had to tonight after listening to your commentary. I am a survivor of domestic abuse. I have always said that physical abuse heals and fades but emotional abuse cripples one for life. Thank you for your comments. Surprisingly you have understood the "prison" an abused person can be trapped in even for years after separation from their toxic partner. Thank you for your words of support for Natalia. I would never have anticipated hearing such empathy and insight coming from a man. I have never met a man of such understanding. Radu's lawyer's stance on this issue is what I have come to expect from men. I had a male psychiatrist who said there is no such thing as rape in a marriage. It took me a month to leave him and seek a female therapist. Once again, thank you, you have clearly illustrated for me that not all men think the same way. You are very special.

I dont know what your background is, but as a mental health professional myself, I think you provide better psychological analysis of people than other channels that proclaim to use mental health professionals in their analyses. Great job!

I'm romanian and I never heard of this case. Sadly, domestic violence is prevalent here especially in more rural areas.
Just recently, the husband of the daughter of one of my mom's friend beat her and threatened to kill her in front of her toddler, before she managed to text her mom for help and he ended up hanging himself in their barn (her mom has also been getting beaten by her husband for years and she recently divorced him). Really disturbing stuff, and it's almost normalized in some families.
