man u teach me some good stuff! im gettin better by the video! this just helped me figure a problem out. i was thinking why the the equipment come with 7/8 stub and somebody reduced to 3/4 on a 25’ line set so i started looking for legitimate answers. i never under mind the hvac engineers and thats just what this installer did to my customer! i sure its what they had on the truck and knew better. bottom line not dumb just lazy!

Do you only use ACR fittings? Can you use K or L type fittings instead? Sweat copper fittings.

Hi, quick question.. lets say you are replacing outdoor condensor unit, and if the existing vapor and liquid line length is not enough(assume0.. what kind of connector you use .. in plumbing we use 90 degree elbow etc.. i am not sure what will be used in HVAC just to extend the line by a feet or two. apprecaite your response

very informative info, is it possible to change pipe size to get equal BTUS, example if u have larger BTU airhandler then the condensor, does increasing pipe size or decreasing pipe daimeter give u equal BTU to get proper cooling operation ?

I'm installing a Gree 4 zone 9, 9, 12, 18 mini split which has 2 branch boxes. The longest run is 40 feet. I'm concerned if I run 2 handlers off of one branch box that I would need to increase the line size to the box. Is it a valid concern or would the system be fine given the short line lengths?

I bought a 3 ton condensing unit to replace old 3 ton unit. when I looked at the vaporside port for new one, it came with 7/8. So, the pipe in the house which is 3/4 wouldn't fit. Maybe I need an adapter.

Hi there, I’m having a hard time determining if I need to size the lineset based on the condensing unit’s BTU’s or the Zone’s BTU’s. I have a Bosch 27k 3 zone mini split. Each zone is 9000btu respectively. Logic is telling me that I will only need a lineset big enough to cover 9000btu on each head. If I had a single zoned 27k btu head then obviously I would need a larger lineset. Am I incorrect? Thanks

Hey bro, that was just excellent info that I was looking for. I just subscribed. Im building my own house and at drywall stage. But with all this heat, I decided to rough in lines and electrical for future if I decide to do air conditioning. Ive only got about 30 ft run from condenser to air handler but I need to do about 3 or four 90 s . The 3/8 line I may be able to bend gently and do the 3 or 4 90 deg turns. How do I run the bigger, probably 3/4? Can I solder? I've solderd plumbing pipes but I know I cant use that on these. Also are few bends allowed or not? Can you give me as much info as you can please? Much appreciated.
