Born in Stuttgart, Germany, Reggie Watts became one of the most recognized avant-garde artists in the world. His improvisational style of making music with only his multi-faceted voice has impressed, cheered up and amused many TEDx audiences around the world. Because most of his happy deconstructivist masterpieces are (partially) improvised, there is no collection or compilation album of his freestyle beatbox songs available anywhere. The vast majority of his works can be heard in live sets or in one of the many talks he has given. He did record some amazing songs you can listen to on Spotify and YouTube but many little gems are hidden away. That's why this video was created:
This song from Reggie's performance on the NPR Tiny Desk Concert called "Another Untitled Improv" is another untitled improv and a melodic art piece that deserves more recognition as a stand-alone song. The pictures of nebulae and galaxies are for funsies (and also because I think Reggie's art transcends time and space through his deconstructivist approach to universally recognizable harmonies and melodic patterns). I fokken love Reggie. Hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I do.
