House passes a marijuana legalization bill

Marijuana would be decriminalized at the federal level under legislation the House approved Friday as Democrats made the case for allowing states to set their own policies on pot.

The bill is unlikely to become law since it is expected to die in the Senate. That would mirror what happened when a similar House-passed measure removing marijuana from the list of federally-controlled substances went nowhere in the Senate two years ago.

The country could benefit from this bill, it would cut spending quite a bit in prisons and jails, by reducing the number of inmates constantly getting incarcerated for such a minor offense making a small but somewhat big impact overall.

the issue however is allowing states to set their own policies on weed, which I can only imagine alot of states will still uphold their laws on weed in their individuals state.

Legalize weed & the USA will be great. We can literally benefit from this economically, environmentally, & medically. Legalizing it would literally decrease taxes & gas tremendously, & there'd be less criminal activity & drug problems. There would be more consumable products made from hemp, including more oil & paper based products l, including clothing would be easier available to manufacture due to less tree cutting & more hemp growing. Literally would be a green future

well, the senators beholden to the pharmaceutical and private prison industry won't like this. I doubt it passes the Senate. Let alone even get a vote. The only way it does is if we ALL CALL, not email both our senators. When their phones blow up, they start to get nervous. Espectally those running for re-election.
