In the Fatal Frame series, when aiming your camera at a hostile ghost, you'll typically have to wait for the camera to charge up before your photo will do sufficient damage to the ghost. But in the original game, if you can manage to photograph every ghost that appears in the mansion, the game will reward you by making your camera automatically reach full power as soon as you have a good shot.

Aww, you missed my favorite! The Linear Accelerator from Parasite Eve 2. Granted, that game skewered closer to 'action' than 'horror' compared to its predecessor, but to even UNLOCK the Linear Accelerator, you had to beat it on the hardest difficulty, which turns up the horror-factor significantly by removing most of the strong weapons you'd normally pick up and making ammo way scarcer. Still, if you make it, you get to do your next playthrough packing a man-portable railgun - using 'man-portable' in the loosest sense possible. It's a huge, shoulder-supported high-tech cannon that probably belongs on a tank, which you're only able to handle at all due to being a genetically altered supersoldier - a fully-charged shot will send you skidding several yards backwards just from the arm-breaking recoil. It can also kill literally ANYTHING IN THE GAME with one fully-charged shot, bosses included, and make you look damn cool while you're doing it...

Gonna keep mentioning this until Jules puts it in a video. The Circular Saw from RE7 is the most OP weapon in that game. Making the brutal madhouse difficulty a cake walk with it infinite stun lock and high damage.

My favorite thing to do in RE3 was to unlock the infinite ammo .357 revolver. Then I had a little payback against Nemesis; which by the way, was how I discovered all the secret weapons he drops.
