Emmanuel Macron has paid a touching tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, sharing that “with her passing, we all feel an emptiness.”

“Through her wisdom and empathy, she helped us all to steer a path through the historic ups and downs of the last seven decades,” the French prime minister said.

For all the english people who are surprised by Macron adressing them in english, do know that HMQ Elisabeth II could speak french in the most perfect manner. She did it every time she came to visit us in France and when she was adressing a message to her Canadian subjects. So it was legitimate to pay her this respect and tribute in return.

Wow, what a man, the fact he delivered in English as the respect for UK and Royal family, that's when a true polition shines,

This speech surprised me in that it brought a tear to my eye, which rarely ever happens, for the respect and friendship in which it was delivered. There's a long and enduring history with France, even though we had wars with each other, the countries have had so much influence on each other and our language holds a part of that heritage. I felt his words keenly. Merci Monsieur le President.

Sincere, warm and heartfelt . A message that conveys the feelings we all feel at this time .
Never, or should I say rarely in the history of this nation of ours, has anybody commanded such love and respect in equal measures.
She was peerless in her dedication and loyalty to the nation she served for 70 years .
There will never be another too replace her in the affections of her people, & all the world's dignitaries and ambassadors, who visited our shores .
The end of an era is upon us, & it's a loss every single right minded person will feel .
I am glad I have been old enough to appreciate how important her presence was on the world stage . Even the craziest dictator would be respectful to her .
With her death we have lost the UK's greatest ambassadors, and her family has lost a grandparent and mother .

I’m impressed.
Now that was genuine.
Thank you Mr Macron, do not agree with the EU or your politics, but on this i raise a glass and say again, “thank you”, you have proved me wrong, you have gone up in my estimation.
God save the Queen.
Long live the King.

From Scotland, a bit of history :

11 French women were queens of England ( French names ) :

Mathilde de Boulogne ( wife of d'Etienne de Blois / Stephen V of Blois )
Aliénor d'Aquitaine, ( Henry II )
Marguerite de France, ( Henry le Jeune )
Isabelle d'Angoulême, ( King John, nicknamed John Lackland, )
Eléonore de Provence, ( Henry III )
Marguerite de France, ( Edward I )
Isabelle de France, ( Edward II )
Isabelle de Valois, ( Richard II )
Catherine de Valois, ( Henry V )
Marguerite de Valois, ( Henry VI )
Henriette-Marie de France, ( Charles I )

3 kings of England were born in the Kingdom of France ( vassals ) :

William the conqueror ( Duc of Normandy )
Etienne de Blois ( Stephen V, count of Blois and Duc of Normandy )
Henri II ( count of Anjou and Duc de Normandy )

5 kings and 1 queen of England are buried in France

William the conqueror ( Caen )
Henri II ( abbey of Fontevraud )
Richard Coeur de Lion ( Richard I " the Lion heart " - abbey of Fontevraud )
Henri le Jeune ( Henry the young - Rouen )
Jacques II ( Paris )

Queen Mathilde, wife of William the conqueror, buried in the abbey of Bec Hellouin in Normandy was not of French origin, that is why she does not appear in the 1st list.

Shame very few of Queen Elizabeth's Prime Ministers came anywhere near matching her for her ability to represent the best in our country.
