I thought if you close an account it stays on your credit history for up to ten years and by that time one should have established enough credit to replace that closed account?

Discover closed my account because of non use but I missed their 30 day notice. I called them to negotiate them doing this, it was one of my lowest apr and oldest lines atleast 10 years. BTW this was during the pandemic. Super shady. Said I needed to reapply.

I opened a nunch of credit cards in a short time span and my credit tanked because of it. Its going up slowly but I was at 790 approaching 800, now its 767 and going up SLOWLY. How long will it take for it to go back up to where it once was so I can work on getting 800?
