The database thing greatly depends on your data size. And having a dedicated DBA is a must even of cloud loads, as the majority of developers have no idea of DB design, query optimization or backups.

I've been doing web dev for 20 years. All the frontend frameworks make life easier, but I've seen basic understanding of frontend development just disappear since 2013-2014.

To the extent that I had to once explain to a guy with 3 years of React experience how a basic link worked. He thought it was black magic. 🤦‍♂️

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. This leads the endless wrapper library on top of wrapper libray recursion that is the js ecosystem.
