As you drive down a winding road in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, you see an old gas station appear out of nowhere. It seems deserted, with shattered windows and rusted pumps. But as you start to slow down, you notice something moving in the shadows. A figure steps out from behind the building, and you feel a sense of dread wash over you. You know you should keep driving, but something compels you to stop and investigate.

Man, this story made me feel old. When I was younger there was a Sinclair's P&M in my town and it was a nice stop as the owners actually would try to compete with rivaling grocery stores.

Wondering storytelling yet again. The Sinclair station took me back to 1992 and a road trip to South Dakota from New York in 1992 with Mom's side of the family. I LOVED seeing the Sinclair stations (as a 80s kid, my primary job goal was paleontologist).

I sometimes work for months as an RN in a MidNorth South Australia near the isolated outback that involves 4 to 5 hour drives through the night 2x a week.

Listening to your stories during those drives really ups the creep factor and sometimes keeps me on edge because I very rarely encounter another person or vehicle for hours in the dark.

NEVER let yourself run out of gas, it will always happen at the worst places ever to have to fill up. When I was younger I didn't run out of gas but I did get a flat at 3 in the morning, my mom was driving me to work, luckily I could change a tire in about ten minutes.

My mom wanted to wait and have some guy come just no but hell no.
