Motion Tracking Masks for Final Cut Pro Footage Using Motion 5!

We go through creation Motion tracking masks in Motion 5 so we can utilize isolated footage on Final Cut Pro X. Great video!! I'm trying to mask some action figures on a stop motion and their shapes change throughout the scene. Not sure if this will work on something like that, but it's still a very useful video, nonetheless. I own Motion 5, but have no idea how to use it. This may change with your video.

Could this same technique be applied to a drone shot to outline a property line? Perhaps by drawing a line around the selected shape as opposed to masking it out?

I ran into a roadblock. 
My issue is I have seven human shaped characters. 
When I masked them off and followed the rest of your instructions, I wasn't able to match them to the mask as they moved.
