Gord Downie was a lyrical genius, a true human being and a Canadian cultural hero. Thank you for reacting to the Hip!

11.7 million people tuned in to their final concert in their hometown of Kingston. RIP Gord, five years now....sigh

I’m American and I was introduced to Canadian music by a best friend that’s Canadian. I thank him everyday for knowing that The Hip exist. They are the best damn band I’ve ever listened to. Please think about doing Our Lady Peace, Matthew Good, Big Sugar, Headstones, or Moist too

Anything on 'Fully Completely' is a Stone-cold classic. The Tragically Hip just never got the traction in the US they deserved. They are revered in Canada.

It's so wonderful to watch our southern neighbors discover the awesomeness that was The Hip and Gord Downie. His passing was such an emotional loss for our country.

Canada's Bar Band. I won't say every Canadian is a fan of the Hip but we all know their music.

"All of Canada " watched their final concert on tv. It was emotional.

The Hip never caught on here in the US. I grew up in the northernmost part of NY, maybe 40 miles from where these guys got their start, so I've always known about them. Over the years they've become one of my all time favorite bands, but if you aren't from the most norther states, you weren't likely to know about them. Thanks for reacting to them. Makes me happy to see more people getting the chance to hear them. I saw your reaction to New Orleans is Sinking yesterday, and subscribed. Keep listening to the Hip, man, and thanks for the videos.

"38 years old" is another great one by them. Tells an interesting story.

Thanks for doing this on Canada Day. It's a sad one here in Canada as our nation is in mourning as we are uncovering our terrible past. Gord Downie used his final dying days to draw attention to residential schools. As an Indigenous woman with two Indigenous little boys I see him as a national hero on top of being a first class Canadian musician.

Would love to hear you do a reaction to "Ahead By A Century". It was their closing song at their last concert televised throughout Canada; viewed by 11.7 million people. EVERYONE cried knowing Gord was dying of terminal brain cancer and it would be their very last concert. RIP Gord Downie 🙏 ~ we miss you 💔

The views are lower on the videos because we already own all of their albums in Canada! lol. So glad you are reacting to them, The Hip are a Canadian treasure that we'd love to share with the rest of the world. Cheers from Ontario!

The Hip are titans of the industry in Canada, and basically unknown or underappreciated everywhere else. Words can't describe how glad I am that a wider audience is beginning to discover and connect with their music.

EDIT: If you want some songs of theirs that reference hockey, try "The Lonely End of the Rink", "Fireworks", or "50 Mission Cap".

Best Tragically Hip songs are yet to come!! Ahead By A Century, Wheat Kings, Nautical Disaster, Bobcaygeon, Courage (For Hugh MacLennan), Long Time Running, Fiddler's Green, It's A Good Life If You Don't Weaken', Yer Not The Ocean, Flamenco, Fifty-Mission Cap, and At The Hundredth Meridian.
