David Francis Urrows (b. 1957) is an American organist, composer, and musicologist. He was educated at Brandeis University (A.B.), the University of Edinburgh (M.Mus.), and Boston University (D.M.A.) His principal teachers were Randall Thompson and Kenneth Leighton and he also studied with Harold Shapero, David del Tredici, Girolamo Arrigo, Donald Martino, and Arthur Berger. He served as on the faculty of Hong Kong Baptist University from 1989–91 and from 2001–18. He also taught at Boston University, the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, Eastern Mediterranean University, and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Urrows has been active as an organist and choral conductor and his compositions appear in the catalogs of various music publishers, including Boosey & Hawkes, Paraclete Press, A-R Editions, and E. C. Schirmer. In 1989, he began an extensive project documenting the history of the pipe organ in China.
