#DearMe - 3 Pieces of Advice To My Younger Self

#DearMe is a campaign to celebrate international woman's day.

While I'm not a woman I thought it might be okay if I offered 3 pieces of advice to the young version of myself in the hopes that maybe others can learn from that advice. Enjoy. :)

As an 18 year old, this advice is invaluable. I recently stopped spending hours on my Xbox. I now dedicate that time to reading, along with exercising and improving my daily nutrition. This video reassures me that I've been on the right track. Thank you, sir.

I'm 42:
i would say:
- get yourself a male masculine mentor to guide you
- Never get married; ever!
-Trust your instincts and act on it. Don't focus to much on words.
- Help others more!

Thanks for talking about this Rich . . . one month before my 19th birthday I was a passenger on a motorcycle that was t-boned by a full size station wagon. The impact site was my left ankle. I'm 60 years-old now and doing well. If I lived my life in the victim mode I would have self-destructed. People have always said, "you don't understand, you've had it easy . . ."  I assume that everyone has suffered in life. I've known people for 10 years and they never knew about my accident, that my left leg is two inches shorter and terribly disfigured - it's not my story, it's not what I've ever focused on in life.  I love your message about spending way less time around people that don't raise the bar. I would tell my younger self to follow my gut more. Seek people that want to grow and expand. Step out of my comfort zone and connect with people that fascinate me. Time DOES fly!! It's shocking how fast (especially after 50)! LIVE the life you want to live TODAY! All the best . . .

I'm 44, and a successful entrepreneur. The advice I would give to my 20yr old self would be: (1) don't measure against others, measure against yourself (work on becoming a better version of yourself every day), (2) do deadlifts, (3) stretch more.

I can't tell you how happy I am to have come across the content you put out! I love hearing the cold hard truth; There's nothing better to help build character. I appreciate the great advice man, keep up the great work.

I'll give my 3 pieces too.
1.Don't pay attention to what everyone else is, no matter how much better off they may seem.
2.Don't try to fit it with the crowd, learn to stand alone. Only 1% of the world is wealthy, so why try to fit in with the 99% that aren't where you wanna be.
3.Last but not leaset, stop eating garbage! Eat natural foods, fruits and vegetables. Also mostly water and not beverages. ZERO alcohol.
There's a lot more I'd like to share but I'm just gonna settle dor 3 in the spirit of the video.
Also I am 29 and my business generates a hole lot more than $1M.
lol not US$ though.

Your word is your bond, take initiative never make excuses take ownership-fix it and move on. These are the values I was raised with they have helped me become the woman that I am unfortunately I don’t run into a lot of people these these values

Thanks for the good advice. I just came across your channel recently. I really enjoy the self help advice you give and how to become a better self. It's hard hitting and involves discipline, but its the truth. I too was addicted to Warcraft for 7 years, and now want to scale back and maybe stop playing completely. It really doesn't add anything of value to real life.

Thanks for this video! 20 years ago, I would tell myself to read more (I was 4 20 years ago). 10 years ago, however, I would tell myself to stop watching television. It changed who I was.

Dear Me, Don't listen to mom and dad. They were too ancient in their thinking and it crippled me. Here I am about to be 32 and finally doing what I wanted to do at 18 after 11 years of active duty military service and being unhappy the entire time.

20 years ago I would have been 7... But, I would have told myself that everything was going to be alright, because you will figure it out before most.

Great video Richard! I find it very interesting looking at how confidant you look and are when making these videos and then hearing about how you suffered with anxieties back when you in your teens. I personally suffer with social anxiety and am 18, so me imagining life without it seems far fetched but I am working on it as I progress with my businesses and as I am getting out my teens/getting older. cheers.
