Burns started cutting rates immediately when inflation started falling. Inflation did fall. But only from 12% to 5%. Powell is not Burns. And volker just allowed rates to rise. And market brought down inflation. Sort of like what we saw in the past month. I believe Fed has reigned in the inflation expectations that was still raging few months ago. But time will tell.
