How to recover your old pre google youtube account

How can I recover it, if I don’t remember the password? I only remember the username and the email associated to it.

I have a couple ideas of what my password might have been back then, but I'm not sure. It says that I've made too many attempts and I can't do it anymore. Does anybody else have the same problem?

I've been trying to access an old youtube account for nearly a decade. Unfortunately, when I used this method, my password was TOO LONG for the password entry field!!! 😑

Doesn't work. It just says "Unable to claim channel". If I try another password it says "wrong password" so I'm sure they are my right info.. but I can't. It doesn't say why.

I tried all the passwords I could have used, but none of them worked, is there any other way I can recover it?

I have an old youtube account from around 2015. I remember my email and actually just had it reinstated for this purpose. I also remember my password but I can only get so far. I can get a code sent to the old email and I enter the code. Then it ask me for a phone number for verification and that's where it stops :-( At that point i'm told that they don't have enough information to verify its me! What else do they want? Where and how would I submit any other information? I currently have an active youtube and gmail account but maybe that is causing some problems? I'm severely confused between Google accounts and youtube. WTH? which is which or are they all the same. I'm so frustrated. Any help or advice from anyone would be appreciated. I think Google/Youtube really suck that they don't help people with support. Thanks!

I can't reclaim my channel either, it's ridiculous as you should be able to use your email that's associated with the channel to reset the password, mine is old yahoo!!! I've tried the pw that I know to be correct yet no access. So many channels just dormant because Google can't be bothered to provide a fix. Lazy.
