I’m amazed at the variety within that family of plants! To propagate by leaf, your website advises the end should NOT touch (or be imbedded in) the soil until it has roots and a plantlet, correct? So many different methods out there, I just want one trusted source so I follow you guys.

Ooh I have a bunch of the mother of thousands.. didn’t know there was a pink variety! 😍
Mine were growing like crazy, one is so tall it looks like a little tree.. but they’ve wilted a bunch since I moved, & worried I might lose them.. would it be a good idea to mix some perlite or sand in with the soil so it’s not too moist? Also I didn’t know they were toxic for cats 😢

They don’t usually mess with them too much. I brought them inside bc it’s too cold out there for them.. just a little longer til it gets warm enough. Only problem is my new place has only north facing windows/patio, so not much direct sunlight… anyone know if they do well with grow lights?

Thanks for the great content!

i recently rescued kalanchoe houghtoniis. they grew next to my school, and i assume the babies fell off of the plant in a pot and made their way into the pavement. sadly alot of babies were lost since people were mindlessly kicking them. but now they are growing safer in my home :)

im noticing how they are really common in the streets, either kept as plants by residents or growing out on the pavement. pretty crazy

This very helpful. I have a quick question. My mother of million has gotten very tall. Can I trim it and replant it without worrying that the bottom plant will die?

How do you get the mother of millions to flower? I have 3 gorgeous plants with tons of babies but no sign of flowers.

I have about a dozen mother of thousands. All grown from pups. And always in any soil I can find. They're mostly in regular cheap potting soil.
So either They're even less picky, or mine are messed up and survive just fine in that junk "soil". I mean mostly organic matter soil. Oh, and no drains. So they get flooded every few days and sit in it.
So don't sweat it.
FYI:
Desert, at 4600 feet above sea level and indoors. Wood stove in the living room. Average winter temp of 81 degrees F. Average summer temp with AC running is 75F.
Lastly north facing window on a north slope with no trees nearby.
