BEAD 'Build America Buy America' Rules Expected Late in Summer

The NTIA has said that additional guidance on the BEAD Program's "Build America Buy America" requirements will not be available until later this summer. Those rules require that products used for broadband infrastructure projects be produced in the United States, and that over 55% of components making up the product be mined, produced or manufactured in the United States. Meeting these requirements for some components will present challenges for broadband operators. The NTIA will have the ability to waive these requirements in some cases if there are compelling reasons.
