Labelling on USB-C cables, chargers and fast charging requirements need be made simple for the general public.

Non-tech inclined people just don't understand that different cables and chargers do different things or that their laptop likely can't fast charge their phone

“Ohh, we’re live…” - Linus Sebastian, basically every wan show. The greatest intro!

I feel Luke's pain, my company publishes applications to the google and apple store almost every week and without fail we have issues with Apple. Sometime we even publish the same application with minor logo and colour changes and one will be accepted and another rejected...

I love how good of a boss linus is. There are so SO few industries where there is ANY company that gives their people more than the bare minimum amount of time. I know its not possible to do that for the videos all the time but the fact that he puts this much effort into making sure people have enough time to do their jobs. It’s so rare and I’m glad the person who does it talks about it so much

“Don’t be afraid to apply” Okay. I have no applicable skills, no experience, and only a moderate amount of enthusiasm. Please hire me

Yeah, to answer Linus's rhetorical question at the end, ARM's originally British - "ARM" originally stood for "Acorn Risc Machines", and that's the Acorn who made the BBC Micro that went into all the UK schools in the 80s (I coded on an ARM with the Acorn Archimedes back in the day, with not an inkling of how far that CPU would end up going) - so it's not just the FTC who're gunning for this, the UK authorities have also expressed their dismay and might launch a "monopolies and mergers" on this, if the FTC don't shut it down first.

I'm just gonna open up and say that I'm one of the 14 edge users, and actually quite like the browser over chrome. It's way more friendly than chrome on touch and pen inputs, is more feature rich, feels faster and syncs between my surface, iphone, ipad, and windows pc way better than chrome, while also being able to run chrome extensions with no problems. That being said I do agree that a native feature for interest free payments was an entirely unnecessary addition to the browser.

8:33 - the exact moment Linus changes from 'WAN Show Linus' to 'Youtube video Linus'
You can see the effort he puts in voice modulation and proper pausing. Absolute professional!

When I think of NVidia I think of CUDA and how closed that whole thing is. NVidia is one of the most closed companies out there and it gets really frustrating dealing with it. They actively work against any kind of open standards and create their own versions at every step. If they could get away with their own graphics API instead of DirectX they would do that also. There are bugs that have existed in their drivers for more than 10 years that are still not fixed and likely will never be fixed. Plug a second monitor in and watch the GPU power usage really ramp up even if it is only showing a desktop.

I have been working at removing NVidia from the products I rely on just because they have been such a poor player. Under no circumstances should they be allowed to buy ARM because as Linus said we all know what will happen with that.

The 1:21:45 - "Two nerdy boys talking about bras" segment was hilarious, thank you so much for this 🤣

"We are making blankets because we have a tonne of alpaca wool".

For a youtube tech channel LTT have weird problems.

On the Apple front, this is why the store monopoly is such an issue. There is no incentive for them to do anything other than collect your fee. Investing in a better approval process (including training their people) negatively affects their margin. Apple does not need your happiness. They require your fealty.

I am very hyped for that workshop jacket Linus mentioned. I am a maker and wear sweaters all the time as a sorta-fashion thing (when I'm not running a machine where it's dangerous). Make sure you can at least roll the sleeves up and easily hide/tuck away the hood strings if you have them to encourage machine safety while wearing it.

I completely agree with everything you said about being a fan of someone or something. It's ridiculous.

For that discussion alone, I am now a huge fan of yours...

You should do How Linus Media SPENT money. Take numbers from, like, 3 yesrs ago and explain what ended up being a good and bad deal. That way you aren't misleading people. Obviously, you believe in every individual expenditure you make when you make it, even knowing you will end up regretting some of them later. But if you're doing old numbers, you already know which ones ended up being good and bad.

Luke's idea of having a build with Harry Mack is honestly the best idea I have ever heard

Hardware designer here. If nVidia buys ARM I'm switching to RISC-V. So will my employers. It's something we regularly talk about at coffee breaks. We're already looking into it.

Great video. Please thank your sound person for the work they, he, she has done with your compression and dynamics in general. It's such a breath of fresh air to hear good audio in which the talent can get excited and express themselves without distorting or blowing out my hears and making me ride the volume control. Thank you, sound engineer.
