Loved this series and watched it many times. Beautiful and dramatic at the same time. Love the soundtrack too.

Star studded made for TV drama we looked forward to watching as it felt like you were actually experiencing the making of America! My family had read the book, I was 10 and just loved watching just bought my sister the DVD set for Christmas
and have had the vhs collection for years. They don't make shows or actors like this anymore. 😀

I've watched this mini series about 100 times and it never gets old. The cast was epic and the story impelling. James A Michener was an awesome writer. I think I was 8 the first time I saw it and it stuck with me for years. It was on yearly for a while then it disappeared and it wasn't on again until I was almost 30 then it finally came out on DVD. I watch it every winter to help pass the long cold nights

I loved this show.
Unfortunately, when it came out, I missed "The Massacre" and "The Cowboys", the best parts, but I have read the book many times.
And the score was majestic--and magic.

Boy, I wish they would televise this again, long story line, great actors. Is this the one where the young girl is bitten in the neck by a rattlesnake? I had flashbacks of that for years!

Que gran mini serie! Que bien lograda la vi completa cuando la estrenaron en Argentina, un gran reparto y una gran historia nada podía salir mal, un lindo recuerdo

A much more comprehensive listing than one done a few weeks ago, thank you. the only complaint i would make would to provide a still from the actual show, and not from something completely out of context. for example, donald pleasance was shown from Halloween, I believe, quite clean shaven and white coated, wherein as Sam Purchas in centennial he had that scruffy out in the wilderness for weeks look, bearded and dirty. all in all, though, very satisfactory.

I miss some characters and some of the names aren’t correct. But it still brings back a lot of good memories. This was without a doubt one of the best (if not THE best) series ever made. Every four or five years I watch the complete series again and still feel I kind of sad when I hear ‘I guess he’d rather be in Colorado’, because I know it is almost finished.

When I was a young kid I started watching this with my father. It was late evening and I was supposed to go to bed after having finished some other movie on teve. This started late, around 11 pm and we started watching. We didn't know it was becoming a 1, 5 hour first episode. But my dad let me stay up and we watched together, and eventually saw the whole series. It was such a great series but also memory of time with my father. The Centennial is deeply imprinted in my mind.
