I've made the trip down south for the Dairy awards and luckily they are in Murchison this year which is where one of my good mates live so I'm crashing at his and while I'm here I thought I would do a farm tour at his newish farm which I haven't seen yet

Two men standing around talking about all the things they'd be doing if they weren't standing around talking about it. Thanks for taking the time to share.

The sheer abuse of the letters 'e' and 'i' in this video is glorious. Another great video Andrew. Your mate has great setup.

I love the way you kiwis are rewriting the dairy industry book, milking twice on one day and once the next 👏🏻👍🏻

NZ is a beautiful place, I drove around the North Island for a couple of weeks a few years back & enjoyed every second of it. 💕

Really interesting to see another perspective. Root crops are great for milking stock.

I see Murchison has a 1581mm average annual rainfall. The river valleys can be drier than the coastal areas, rainfalls can vary considerably over short distances. Murchison's winter July mean temp is 5.7C and a daily low of 1.1C. The hogs may have been 'thinned out' if DOC, Councils, OSPRI etc have been 'treating' the possums with bait.

Gods own country mate, I have a mate that farms in Cissy Bay they loose a few cows a year falling off the side of the mountains 🥴

Great video and majestic country side. Is there a TB threat from the feral animals?

Sudex is great for dry weather. I prefer a sorghum-sudangrass cross for strip grazing, a bit stronger plant and better regrowth I think. For silage, I love a pure sudangrass. Excellent leaf and can make a couple cuts of great silage. Very low input.
