Putin says Russia is 'ready' for nuclear war over Ukraine

Russia's President Vladimir Putin, in a wide-ranging interview with RIA and the Rossiya-1 state television, said that if the United States conducts nuclear tests, Russia may do the same.

He also added that Russia is ready - from a military-technical point of view - for a nuclear war, but for now, not "everything is rushing to it".

What kind of reporting is this? He merely stated that his nuclear forces are ready, alert and modern. What would you expecting him to say "our forces are weak, obsolete and dormant" ? At no point he mentioned Ukraine or any other country ...

They have cut the context. First, the interviewer mentioned the words of a Russian filósofer that the more you prepared for a nuclear war the less probable it is that it happens. The further words of the Russian president are what you see in this video.
