to emphasize, the second definition can only be used in a gathering where there would be multiple attractive people are nearby. eg: *"bros, the fauna here are amazing"* . it's almost always impossible to address a single person as fauna without sounding grammatically incorrect.

arguably, it can be used on both genders because of the nature of the word and how fauna means you're addressing every specimen within the vicinity.
