I find it hilarious that an F1 car struggled to beat a NASCAR sprint car, a couple LMPs, a handful of various GT cars, a DTM car, a WRC car, and a road legal track car.

Fun fact: depending on which language you watched the movie in, a different racer would take the place of Lewis Hamilton. For example, in Spanish Fernando Alonso would take Lewis’ place and in German, Sebastian Vettel would take Lewis’ place

Fun fact to "Max Schnell":

In the German Version of Cars 2, Max Schnell name is "Sebastian Schnell" and is voiced by the 4 time F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel himself.

It is said in the Italy race that Francesco grew in the Porto Corsa course, but in the Japan course, none of the cars ever were on that track

This means that Francesco was always the most likely racer to win the championship due to home track practice

fun fact: the “Number 1” in Formula 1 is only used if you win the World Driver’s Championship the season prior. It is also by choice. Lewis Hamilton chose not to through his championship years while Max Verstappen chose to for this season. This means that Francesco won the Formula 1 World Driver’s Championship in the year prior to Cars 2

You forgot to mention the 2 references where Lewis Hamilton is based on the real life F-1 legend of the same name, and the fact that Miguel Camino’s name is a reference to the classic Chevy El Camino.
