How to wire a 3 way (or any) guitar switch.

I show how to test a guitar switch for continuity using a multimeter. Sometimes it can be frustrating trying to find the right wiring diagram for what you want to do, especially if your doing a custom wiring job. This video will show how you can wire any guitar without needing a diagram.

This must be a sign to me or something. I've been highly contemplating if I should wire my guitar that I just built or if I should pay someone. I actually took it to someone earlier today and the guy was ignorant and didn't listen to anything I had to say. I bought some Fishman Fluence Pickups and it couldn't be easier to solder. Like really easy. Match the wires to one of the diagrams. It comes with all the parts you need and then some. Two humbuckers, two push pull pots, two volume and tone pots. Everything is color coded. I wanted someone to do it because I wanted to use a 5 way switch and that's where I needed someone to help me out. So he made a very good point. Why would I want a 5 way switch if I'm trying to achieve someone's exact configuration because this is a signature series set. So I bought a 3 way switch, keep it simple. Now I feel better about doing it myself. If it doesn't work, well then I'll take it in. But understand this, I've spent the past week researching at work, at home, looking at YouTube, reading forum's etc. I couldn't find this video until now so for that, I thank you good sir!

Johnny, thanks so much, man! I have a Tele and I want to add a middle pickup (humbucker) and keep the 3 way switch. Now I know how to set it up to have either just a N, M or B selection. I don't want a Strat set up nor a Nashville Tele setup, and I am hoping it will work with phasing, etc. But thanks for being clear and explaining like you did - I finally get it!
