YouTube Explained is a mix of analytical and comedic content covering YouTube videos (duh), movies, songs and pretty much anything that can be explained.

Who am I? Well I'm an eighteen year old student studying Digital film Production in London. I love films and everything internet and hope to make YouTube my career. I've been on YouTube for 4 years and don't plan on leaving anytime soon.

I don't think this is still a very good theory however... Green puppet, Yellow puppet, red puppet.
Green Puppet: Went to the real world, now realizing they were forever trapped in the never ending Hell of their minds.
Yellow Puppet: Slowly realizing the real world.
Red Puppet: Stopped understanding the alternate universe they are trapped in.
I don't think it makes sense, but yeah. X3

I remember seeing UMO at a small show in Dallas in 2011 after their first album dropped.
I did a few rails with the bassist after their set and then we all drank and watched the other bands afterwards. Good times.

roy wasn't in the first episode of don't hug me i'm scared and it was made 4 years ago. swim and eat like a shark was made 3 years ago, but roy only showed up in DHMIS 2 so I think it is introduction

I think that the kid in the music video is a younger version of Roy.

Roy and the kid look kind of similar. My theory is that: Roy was trying to find himself in life, get his fair share of "pleasure". Again, things like masturbating to person through a window isn't normal, so he's sent to therapist who does the same- now he saw someone older, an authority figure, if you will, doing it, so he's like "that's just how it is". So he gets back and still has the magazines, (he stops doing that... to the window), some beer, surfs the channels in TV- just to kill time.

He sees this chief and thinks he could do something more, be something more than just a guy who sits in front of TV with beer (I assume it is) on the table and porn magazines right at his hand. He starts painting, but the world is laughing at him. These two guys seem to be an image of haters. You obviously saw comments like "you suck" etc. on diffrent videos on YT, facebook posts and things like that. This comment has no value, it's just saying bad things about someone without a bit of criticism and it's meaningless, just like the words they paint on the wall are pointless.
Roy, being a sensitive kid, goes back to his house and he cries, because "the world" (a.k.a. only two haters) laughed at him. So he does what he did previously (one of last scenes he's sitting on the bed with the lornet in his hand, I'm assuming it's not for watching birds).

He was hurt by the world, told that he means nothing, just like stuff he's doing, so he metaphorically locks himself a cage, where he does nothing productive, he abadons something that would become his passion (everyone sucks at something before they become good at it) and wastes his time watching TV, drinking beer, masturbating (all of three are like drugs, don't deny it). I'm not sure about the last bart when someone's watching him through that lornet, could be possibly some fucked up guy, just like Internet is full of psychos.

This is where the video ends, and in DHMIS Roy didn't stop his habits, his skin turned yellow (possibly from 1: drug abuse, 2: smoking, 3:aging, although all of 3 could be far-fetched and misinterpreted), his eyes are bulging out, he lost his hair, his teeth are out etc.
I must say that he also looks really dead inside, hollow and dumb.

This is what the world has done to him. Roy beleved he's worthless, so he stopped doing something more, to please his mind, and instead he's going for pleasing his body, just like the media says, and everybody around him does (humanity is fucked up). This just shows a man's own tragedy. I think the message is: don't listen to haters who'se only purpose is to hate without any base, do something diffrent than pleasing you'r body (and dumbing down our mind), get out of your room, be someting more.

Whew, congrats if you got this far. Remember, this is just my wiev on these things and I could be wrong.

I know i'm very late but here's my theory about the aftermath of what happened in the music video: "Roy" smiled because he took the idea of kidnapping 3 people to make a kid's show, but before he did that he was depressed and started taking drugs until the point where he got mentally ill (this may explain why he's yellow, has a crooked nose, a few strands of long blue hair, cross-eyed,  and his obsession for pornography) and finally achieved his plan.

Before watching the theory:
If the guy in the video is roy and June 19 is his birth than it explains everything.
The characters from dont hug me im scared are Roy imaginary friends. The yellow guy is a representation of Roy as a kid. As he gets older his imaginary friends disappear. June 19 is a constant reminder for Roy of how miserable and trapped he is in his life.

omg did anyone else notice the picture of the horse that guy was painting ?? its the same picture thats always hanging on the wall in the DHMIS videos . could almost mean that guy is roy and this is his childhood or something
